Naming the letters is the easy part. Reading the word is the job — and that is what Luvinci is built for, starting from the very first letter sound if that is where your child is.

Ages 4-9. A child still learning letter sounds and a child already reading sentences can each be set to their own level, so one app covers a kindergartener and a 2nd grader without buying twice.

HEARING THE SOUNDS IS THE POINT
Tap a letter and your child hears it sounded out. In the read-aloud stories, every word lights up as it is spoken, so the letters on the page and the sounds in the air arrive together. A paper workbook cannot do that. The stories are written in rhyme, so the sound patterns your child is learning to hear keep coming back around.

IN KINDERGARTEN
- Letter sounds: what each letter says, not just what it is called
- CVC words: cat, sun, big — the first words a child decodes alone
- First sight words: common words read by sight instead of sounded out
- Counting and number building on Montessori math boards

IN 1ST GRADE
- Blends: hear how two consonants run together inside one word
- Short and long vowels: the difference that decides how a word is read
- Spelling: build a word letter by letter and hear each sound go into place
- Addition and subtraction shown on the math boards, not just drilled

MOVING INTO 2ND GRADE
- Vowel teams: the letter pairs that make one sound together
- Longer words, and comprehension and vocabulary questions on the stories
- Multiplication and times tables on the same math boards
- Logic and memory puzzles that get harder as your child works through them

WHY YOUR CHILD KEEPS GOING BACK
Ten minutes here ends with your child having read something, not watched something.
- Interactive stories that play like games, with puzzles hidden inside them
- A character they design, down to the clothes and hairstyles
- A coloring section for the quieter part of the day

THEY CAN RUN IT THEMSELVES
The menus are pictures, so a child who cannot yet read the words can still choose where to go. Set your child's level and Luvinci puts together a daily set of activities to match, so practice at home has an order to it instead of being whatever game gets tapped first. It works well as a short daily habit: after school, or as part of a homeschool morning, alongside your own curriculum rather than in place of it.

WHY PARENTS PICK IT
- No ads, no pop-ups, and nothing to click through to — nobody can reach your child here
- Works fully offline: a whole flight with no wifi, and no help needed
- Self-paced, with activities your child can replay as often as they want
- Change the level as your child moves up, or for a younger or older sibling

WHAT IT COSTS
Download it and look around. Unlocking every section is an in-app purchase or a subscription — and there are no ads either way, paid or not.

Open Learn to Read and listen to your child work out a word on their own — the first one, or the first hard one. That moment is the whole point.
